hListing unleashed | Comments (1)

Posted in Work on 27th March 2008, 5:51 pm by Stuart

Over on the YDN Blog, Ben Ward has written a detailed post on the use of hListing microformats in the latest release of the Kelkoo shopping comparison site. In the article Ben provides some neat examples of exactly how these microformats can be utilised to display product information on a 3rd party site.

Having been part of the highly caffeinated team that worked on the site, it’s great to see recognition for the team’s hard work in implementing so many microformats into the site and in particular, Ben’s pioneering work in bringing 26.5 million hListings into the world.

“Highly caffeinated team”… ;-)

Congrats Ben, and self songratulations as well.

By the way, what will happen to the coffee machine now that almost all the ex-team is fleeing ?

Coffee ’s not bad at Opera but there’s room for improvment.

Using Loggerhead with mod_wsgi|(0)

Here’s a post I wrote over on the Project Fondue Blog about our use of Loggerhead with mod_wsgi under Apache. Loggerhead is the rather nice branch viewer for bazaar branches as used on Launchpad.net.

If you’re not already subscribed to the Project Fondue blog feed then I can recommend it, as there should be some interesting posts coming out of there in the coming months (yes I’m unashamedly biased!).

Ubuntu: Turn off changing workspace with mouse wheel|(1)

I found the changing with the workspace with the mouse wheel really annoying. To disable it go to System => Preferences => CompizConfig (available if the compizconfig-settings-manager package is installed) and uncheck “Viewport Switcher” which is under the “Desktop” heading.
