Recently I trying to install &lt;a href="https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/2299" rel="nofollow"&gt;Threadkey&lt;/a&gt; on Thunderbird (2.*) but couldn't because of MaxVersion. The install.rdf hack didn't work but &lt;a href="https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/421" rel="nofollow"&gt;Mr Tech's Local Install for Thunderbird&lt;/a&gt; worked like a charm.</description>
