There’s a couple of great events happening this month; barcamp London, d.Construct etc. Where will I be whilst all of this is going on? I will be dissappearing down to the South of France for a well-earnt break.

I wish Richard, Andy and Jeremy all the best with d.Construct, and I look forward to reading all of the related notes and blogposts so make sure you help Steve with the note-taking on subEthaEdit.

If you’re going to be at any of these events have a good time, I will be back later in September with more details on the upcoming WSG London Meetup Microformats special on the 19th October, featuring Jeremy Keith, Drew McLellan and Mark Norman Francis.

    OOh another meetup. Nice!

GNU screen: open tab in current working directory|(1)

A nice trick for having screen open a new tab in the same directory as the one you’re currently in. To use it add it to your .screenrc

# Open new window in current dir.
bind c stuff "screen -X chdir \$PWD;screen^M"
bind ^c stuff "screen -X chdir \$PWD;screen^M"

Ubuntu: add-apt-repository: command not found|(3)

When you’re using a minimal Ubuntu install if you find the ‘add-apt-repository’ command is missing (it’s useful for adding PPAs and other repositories), then simply run:

sudo apt-get install python-software-properties
