Whassup with Google Analytics? | Comments (6)

Posted in Snippets on 23rd June 2006, 11:16 am by Stuart

Eagle-eyed Tim Mark let me know earlier today that Google Analytics seems to have stopped collecting data. After checking my accounts I can concur that all of them have stopped collecting data. Now either this is a minor glitch in the Matrix or someone just added Google Analytics to Yahoo’s homepage?! Update: All’s well, the data appeared later in the afternoon.

Yeah, it happened to me too. I´ve checked all morning looking for post about it. Now I know its not just me. Hopefully the data IS gathered but not yet available.

@Daniel: Yes I’m thinking the same. It’s probably only a minor issue fingers crossed.

Ok, firstly I should point out that it was my good friend Mark that spotted the problem…

Now that’s cleared up, I just got this reply from the Google support team (speedy reply guys, thanks!):

Hello,

Thank you for your email. Under normal circumstances, report data generally takes up to 24 hours to update, but may sometimes take longer to appear in your account. AdWords cost information is imported once daily, to import the previous day’s information. However, we’ve been notified that reports processing for June 22, 2006 have been delayed.

Please note, however, that none of your data has been lost, and our engineers are currently working to update your reporting data. We appreciate your patience in the meantime.

For additional questions regarding e-commerce, goals, filters, tracking and setup questions, please visit the Analytics Help Center at http://www.google.com/support/analytics. If you’re unable to find an answer to your question on our site, please feel free to reply to this email.

Sincerely,

Aditya
Analytics Support

So there you go. The stats are there – we just can’t see them yet!

Using Loggerhead with mod_wsgi|(0)

Here’s a post I wrote over on the Project Fondue Blog about our use of Loggerhead with mod_wsgi under Apache. Loggerhead is the rather nice branch viewer for bazaar branches as used on Launchpad.net.

If you’re not already subscribed to the Project Fondue blog feed then I can recommend it, as there should be some interesting posts coming out of there in the coming months (yes I’m unashamedly biased!).

Ubuntu: Turn off changing workspace with mouse wheel|(1)

I found the changing with the workspace with the mouse wheel really annoying. To disable it go to System => Preferences => CompizConfig (available if the compizconfig-settings-manager package is installed) and uncheck “Viewport Switcher” which is under the “Desktop” heading.
