@media begins tonight with the pre-@media party. I’m not sure where the time went, it seemed that not so long ago @media was something far ahead in the future.

Anyhow, this event is looking to be great fun, there’s going to be plenty to see and hopefully lots of new faces to meet along with a lot of old friends. With it being a dual-tracked affair it’s going to be hard to pick and choose which things I am going to see, though I’m pretty sure there’ll be plenty of people taking notes at every panel so no worries there. One again Gareth at Morethanseven will be doing his usual aggregation of everything @media2006 related, so be sure to stop by his site if you want to catch-up on what’s been happening. I’ll be doing my best to take my usual notes too, but I’m not too sure whether I’ll be posting them straight away but we’ll see.

The response to the first Web Standards Group event on the 14th July has been fantastic, and if you have registered and will also be at @media do come and say hi. Also I am actively looking for speakers for future London WSG events so if you are interested in talking about something standards related then please do seek me out. Funnily enough I look remarkably like the bloke on the about page.

If you’re in the doldrums because you’re not going to @media then fear not; Faruk has organised a whole heap of fun down here in London for anyone who’s not going so check out the Not! media site for details.

Sounds like a great event, be sure to report extensively for us who has to stay abroad!

I can’t wait. Suddenly the time really has just flown by, hasn’t it? Hopefully I’ll manage to recognise you in the crowding throng of people and come and say hi. I also look remarkably like the chap on the about page of my site. It’s uncanny really, isn’t it?

Time eh? I could swear Carson was yesterday and wasn’t that February? I meant to say hi then, but the two days of @media leaves me with no excuses.

I look a little like the small head that, thanks to Gravatar, should magically appear next to this comment when it’s posted :-)

Using Loggerhead with mod_wsgi|(0)

Here’s a post I wrote over on the Project Fondue Blog about our use of Loggerhead with mod_wsgi under Apache. Loggerhead is the rather nice branch viewer for bazaar branches as used on Launchpad.net.

If you’re not already subscribed to the Project Fondue blog feed then I can recommend it, as there should be some interesting posts coming out of there in the coming months (yes I’m unashamedly biased!).

Ubuntu: Turn off changing workspace with mouse wheel|(1)

I found the changing with the workspace with the mouse wheel really annoying. To disable it go to System => Preferences => CompizConfig (available if the compizconfig-settings-manager package is installed) and uncheck “Viewport Switcher” which is under the “Desktop” heading.
