Off to work for Multimap | Comments (10)

I’ll be leaving my current job at the end of April to go and work for Multimap. I’ll be focusing more on front-end stuff there, which will leave me to re-kindle my love for PHP in my spare time ;-).

Working at Rentokil has been a great experience and I feel like I’ve learnt a lot in the year and a half that I’ve been there. I’m also proud to have played my part as a standards advocate and now the seed is sown, I’m sure the webdev team will continue to build upon this in the future.

Commuting to London will be a big change of scene and I’m going to have to dust off my BMX and my walkie talkie with it’s unfeasibly long aerial for the journey to the station. Still the exercise will do me good; all those puddings in the Rentokil canteen have taken their toll.

On the subject of BMX bandits - WHAT A FILM!! Have you seen the follow up film RAD? It’s well worth a trip down memory lane. You just cant have as much fun on a mountain bike.

I say “go for it!” I was interested to learn at SXSWi that there are a large number of closet musicians in the design/developer crowd.

We should all stay on next year at SXSWi 2007 and form a supergroup!

Scrolling issue in Leopard cured with PRAM reset|(0)

Having got a shiny new MacBook Pro to work on at my new workplace I’ve had a couple of strange problems with Leopard. The main issue was that when scrolling the graphics was suffering what appeared to be a strange redraw problem when scrolling. After googling I found this post:“Distorted graphics in Leopard when scrolling”.

Fortunately for me: resetting the PRAM has worked and the flickering issue has gone for now.
