Tabmix 0.1.3 out now.. get it while it’s hot! | Comments (0)

Hemiolapei has released Tabmix 0.1.3 for FireFox which contains a few bug-fixes over the previous release. I submitted a couple of bugfixes for my contribution (the ability to make links to sites outside of the current page open in a new tab) which prevents any ugliness occurring when javascript links contain URLs

I have been using this extension for some time now and I am totally happy with it – I haven’t seen any issues (apart from the bugs with my own feature!). If you’ve been looking to replace the tabbed browser extension with something lighter then this is the extension for you.

GNU screen: open tab in current working directory|(1)

A nice trick for having screen open a new tab in the same directory as the one you’re currently in. To use it add it to your .screenrc

# Open new window in current dir.
bind c stuff "screen -X chdir \$PWD;screen^M"
bind ^c stuff "screen -X chdir \$PWD;screen^M"

Ubuntu: add-apt-repository: command not found|(2)

When you’re using a minimal Ubuntu install if you find the ‘add-apt-repository’ command is missing (it’s useful for adding PPAs and other repositories), then simply run:

sudo apt-get install python-software-properties
