I’ve got my girls back! | Comments (0)

It’s great! I had a wonderful day-trip to Portugal and met my fiance and our daughter at the Airport. It was a very long day; I was up at 4.30am and we got back around 3.00am the next morning.

We are all just glad to be home and it was so nice to have Sandra and Emma back home too. Emma seems to have changed over the few days they have been away, but she’s still Daddy’s little bubba!

Spending so much time on the plane was an excellent time to read most of Mr Zeldman’s book “Designing with webstandards” and I feel I’m a purer being. Let’s hope I have absorbed some of the teachings.

GNU screen: open tab in current working directory|(1)

A nice trick for having screen open a new tab in the same directory as the one you’re currently in. To use it add it to your .screenrc

# Open new window in current dir.
bind c stuff "screen -X chdir \$PWD;screen^M"
bind ^c stuff "screen -X chdir \$PWD;screen^M"

Ubuntu: add-apt-repository: command not found|(2)

When you’re using a minimal Ubuntu install if you find the ‘add-apt-repository’ command is missing (it’s useful for adding PPAs and other repositories), then simply run:

sudo apt-get install python-software-properties
